Make Your Websites Mobile-Responsive Or Die A Slow Death!

On Thursday, Google made a comment that is sure to be one of the biggest changes since the Penguin or Panda Update. The statement went as follows:

“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.”

Mobile-responsive for better search results

Smart phone and tablet use is on the rise with no end in sight, Google needed to respond and you should as well. The statement above is confirmation that Google will start rewarding mobile-responsive websites starting April 21, 2015 at least in mobile search engine results, but likely in all results.

This suggests if you currently have a high ranking website that is not mobile-responsive, after April 21, it will likely fall sharply in the rankings. It also means you should be sure to make your future sites mobile-friendly.

If you’ve been waiting for the time to revamp your existing sites and they are not mobile-responsive, the time is now.
